Next location: westbound eastbound
We’d followed a pickup from the tiny community north of Navajo Mountain (Nav Rt 16) down into Piute Canyon and back up onto Piute Mesa, The pickup vanished. No other vehicles or people appeared for rest of our time there. One side track showed recent tire tread imprints. No one spends much time here in the vigorous piñon landscape with very scarce chewable grass growing on the silky soft red dust on the Navajo beach.
