On Paiute Mesa looking west toward Navajo Mountain. N 370 0′ 12.91″ W 1100 37′ 21.38″
We’d followed a pickup from the tiny community north of Navajo Mountain (Nav Rt 16) down into Paiute Canyon and back up onto Paiute Mesa, The pickup disappeared. No other vehicles or people appeared for rest of our time there. One side track showed recent tire tread imprints. No one spends much time here in the vigorous piñon landscape with very scarce chewable grass growing on the silky soft red Navajo beach dust.
