Surveyor Howard Carpenter approached the edge of Ed Lamb Point (although he didn’t use that name) on April 17th, 1901, just before the end of the 75th mile.
Carpenter’s prosaic description fails to note the serene view of the Kanab Plateau to the east that would have been even more pristine over a century ago.
