State Line Road— straight ahead— runs for hundreds of miles, with occasional interruptions, between Missouri and Colorado. The shiny silver rails owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe shoot off to the left. The isolation might invite a North by Northwest-style biplane attack to one with too much time on his or her hands.
